Boléro is one of FranceConcert’s artistic projects. This original creation with choreography, direction, libretto and sets designed by FranceConcert’s artistic team met with great success for its first tour in 2016.
In 2020, the Russian National Opera – Rostov State Theatre – will offer you a new interpretation of this unique work!
Maurice Ravel’s Bolero has always won over the general public and ranks among the most performed works in the world. In 1961, Maurice Béjart and the dancer Duska Sifnios created the ballet “Boléro”, which became one of his most emblematic choreographies.
Ida Rubinstein, friend and patron of the already famous composer, commissioned a Spanish ballet from him. Ravel, always seduced by dance, opted for the bolero, a traditional Andalusian dance. The work has since then seen multiple choreographic versions where the perfection and virtuosity of the dancers set the tone.
A landmark piece in the history of music and dance, a musical phenomenon that continues to this day, Maurice Ravel’s Boléro is one of the most renowned French works in the world.
FranceConcert is the owner and holds the representation rights of “Boléro, a tribute to Maurice Ravel”.
